laptop repair:

In this project I recieved an x360 hp laptop. The customer explained that even though the laptop was cracked it had worked fine and suddnly the touch screen didn't respond, but they were still able to view the contents of the computer okay. In addition to the lack of touch, the customer also stated that the computer performed slow.

Identify the Problem

To tackle one problem at a time I started with the lack of touch input. I wanted to rule out the simplist theories first, by doing a quick reboot on the computer to rule out the touch screen intermittently working. I then went to the windows settings, System tab, About tab to see if pen and touch was listed as active, and it was. Once verifying these settings being active I deducted that the crack in screen must've damaged the digitizer which is responible for registering touch input. in often a digitzer is apart of the display itself so the enitre screen would need to be replaced.
